July 2026 ➜ v1.0.12 update :Regarding the “Fluid+” engine improvements:(GGD call their engine/voice handling “Fluid+”)Toms are cool now. Great work! 👍With the “Tight” closed hihat (for both the “Tip“ and “Edge” articulations), I still find the choke effect way too strong and therefore inauthentic ...

Enhancing Drum Machine Emulations musically by adding fluctuations 😊👉 I love playing e-drums with sounds from vintage drum machines (such as the LinnDrum, 808, or 909). The main difference between many VST emulations (or oneshot drum samples from these machines) and the original analog devices is, ...

Sennheiser headphone cables : If 1.8m is too short for you (it is for me!): There’s a 3m straight cable available for the HD-480 Pro. 😊There is also a 3m straight cable that fits the HD-620S: the Sennheiser “572266” cable 😊...By the way, AKG is always exemplary when it comes to the included 3 ...

One of the most important pieces of VST e-drummer equipment: suitable headphones and a headphone amplifier 👉 What features should the headphones have :1. They should seal well so that the sounds of the pad strikes don’t reach our ears. 2. Such closed-back headphones should also sound enjoyable (a...

Martin Trommler has written a new post in topic VST e-drum latency and module / trigger device latency 👉.
A comparison of the sound quality of the various audio devices tested (headphone output and line output) has been deliberately omitted here, as it is not relevant to the topic of latency. For anyone who is still interested in this aspect, it should be noted that none of the devices’ headphone outp...

Why you probably shouldn't use a Roland module as an audio interface, why a Focusrite Scarlett is likely not the best choice, and—above all—why using a MacBook without an audio interface is absolutely out of the question : Quite simply, because it’s slower and, in most cases, less efficient (...

June 2026:I just tested the latest M&M2 version (v1.0.9). The ride cymbal’s response to damping from soft hits has improved and is actually no longer noticeably problematic. I think that’s really much better now. Unfortunately, the toms and the closed hihat are still very noticeable with their “chok...

Martin Trommler has created the topic Roland "CY-18DR" Cymbal Choke Fix in Ableton Live (for SD3 and EZ3 and similar drum samplers) ❗️😊👉
In Ableton Live (version 11 and later), you can't choke the digital Roland 18" cymbal pad ("CY-18DR") twice or several times in quick succession using SD3 or EZ3 or similar drum samplers. This is a nasty shortcoming, and that Roland digital cymbal pad is the culprit here.So now I've developed a fix ...
