Hello everyone, I have recently entered the world of e-drums in order to be able to practice at home at a tolerable volume. After an almost endless odyssey (rebuilt A-set with triggers, silent cymbals and Yamaha EAD10) with faulty triggers etc., I bought a Millenium MPS-1000 at a good price and use it in conjunction with EZDrummer 3 in standalone mode. Basically, I'm really happy with it so far. I even enjoy playing on an e-set so much that I want to upgrade my set bit by bit. I've got myself some good mesh heads and in the near future I'd like to gradually replace my existing hardware with a Roland VH10 or 11, a decent snare and possibly a ride.
Now to what's bothering me: I keep reading about latency.
Does this also apply to latency with Midi, i.e. when I'm not using the module sounds? The background to this is that my Audiofront EDrumin 10 is in the influx and I spoke to a drum store this morning about something else. The employee was of the opinion that it wouldn't really be worth switching to the Edrumin 10, as the Millenium module is supposed to be fast enough and anything up to 15-17 ms would be okay. Now I'm unsure and somehow I can't really imagine that, because I already have the feeling now and then that the mps-1000 reacts slowly.
Can anyone say anything about this?
