Snare 'Shallow Rimshot' (vs. 'Deep Rimshot') integration 😊👉

There is SSD5.5 and Addictive Drums 2 and some Toontrack SDX/EZXes and some Kontakt libs (such as GGD Benny Greb) that provide additional Snare "Shallow" (Edge) Rimshot articulations.
Also, you can create (fake) such a 'Shallow Rimshot' articulation in Superior Drummer 3 SDX(/EZX) packs if they do not provide it natively (I can build this articulation for you if you struggle with it 🙂)

You can use these additional 'Shallow Rimshot' sounds with pads/modules (trigger devices) that provide Positional Sensing data on rimshot hits from Rimshot Playing Method ( = hitting the rim of the pad + the mesh head at the same time) -> This is a huge benefit in terms of Snare translation authenticity ❗️ [ -- such as the digital Roland 'PD-140DS' snare -- ]

-> So you will be able to play these nice ringing 'Shallow Rimshots' when hitting the rim + the mesh head near the Edge
and
'Deep Rimshots' when hitting the rim + the Center of the mesh head or near the Center.

And the border point on the mesh head can of course be adjusted --> so you can shift the 'Shallow Rimshot' zone vs. the 'Deep Rimshot' zone 👍.

-- supported DAWs: "Reaper" , "Cubase Artist/Pro" , "Logic Pro" , "Bidule" , "AbletonLive Suite" (+ any DAW that can host 'Bidule' as a VST(3) or AU plugin)

ENJOY ❗️😊

BTW, you can use the "making 2 articulations ( ∙ Rimshot -vs- RimClick or Sidestick ∙ ) available from rim strokes: Rimshot playing method -vs- rim alone" FIX to additionally get a drum sampler's 'RimClick' ( = RimOnly) articulation available for the Roland Digital Snare Pad. 🙂
