my most compact Maximum-eKit - just to show you what you can make from little means 😊





One of my e-kits is my "most compact Maximum-eKit" (optimal for people with little space and small budget but desire for many sounds)......

All those pads, clear for the computer with only one old and cheap Roland module....basically this is a Roland TD-9 (you can get it at a quite low 2nd hand price) extended with 4 mono rubber pads and one cheap Medeli cym pad.

The Alesis PercPad has a quite ok midi latency (what you cannot find often with Alesis TriggerToMidi gear) and is one of the cheapest multi pads you can buy....

The Alesis ControlPad is slower though and has crosstalk issues but it is very cheap (I paid about 90 dollars used) so you might excuse it ....

I can get all this work without any crosstalk (even the ControlPad!) and double triggers with a great modular audio software having the most powerful midi features available: "Plogue Bidule" (can also work together with another DAW, also as plugin). If you only have one midi interface the little "Kenton Midi Merge" device will get it for you.

...oh and not to forgot "Audiofront DSPTrigger" - a very cheap virtual trigger device... : for two of the mono pads I'm using two inputs of my audio device. Trigger quality is quite good and with a 2ms scan time and 64 samples audio buffer of a RME audio device (at 48 kHz) it is not significantly slower than the roland-brain inputs.
