Electronic drums and audio computers - They are made for each other! Because it makes e-drums extremely powerful and convenient ❗

For the discerning electronic drummer, the question of using electronic drums without a computer doesn’t even come up. I mean, who would want to do without the sound of a good audio interface, their favorite drum samplers or drum instruments, and their favorite audio plugins (which, for me, are also very important for optimizing the sound through headphones or speakers)—all with the ability to quickly adjust or edit them on the fly?

Who wants to do without incredibly powerful real-time MIDI editing tools and their significant role in optimizing the translation between e-drum hardware and software, as well as in creative e-drum engines?
Who wants to do without a track arranger for super-convenient drum MIDI recording + drum MIDI editing + printing drum audio (and, in that regard, the workflow of their choice) and play-along music and super-powerful learning drum aids like loop playback of beat-quantized sequences?
Well, not me !

And the myth—or rather, the smoke and mirrors—regarding the supposedly game-changing latency of non-computer sound generators has long been debunked (just like the claim that there’s a high risk of e-drum computers crashing).

...And once again, to put an end to the nonsense being peddled to potential buyers: The claim that other systems like USB expanders have significantly lower latency than computer-based solutions is just a smoke screen! (Note: such a device is not a trigger device and therefore cannot compensate for trigger device latency). Once a marketing slogan like that (which plays into potential buyers’ wishful thinking) gets thrown out there, everyone parrots it without realizing that the “huge latency advantage” is maybe 1 ms (compared to fast computer-based systems), and they go wild and celebrate it LOL...
