What are the advantages of the Roland digital hats, ride and snare compared to pure eDRUMin operation? 👉


∙ Snare:
Left/Right hand distinction ("V71 , V51 , V31" module only), which the eDRUMin cannot do.

So purely in terms of the number of zones (excluding Positional Sensing), the Roland snare can process one more zone and can detect the authentic sidestick playing technique with hand placement on the head, which the eDRUMin cannot do.

The main difference between the digital hihat and the eDRUMin is the left/right distinction.


∙ Ride:
The digital ride can offer up to 9 zones with the V71-31 modules, which is the main difference to the eDRUMin. Also worth mentioning is the Soft Choking, which the eDRUMin cannot do either.

(However, the digital ride has one disadvantage in connection with SuperiorDrummer3 or EZDrummer3, for example: it requires a fix engine if you want to generate rapid successive cymbal chokes.)
