( e-drumming with module sounds vs. VST-e-drumming : )
Be skeptical whenever you read something like this in other e-drum forums: "Roland 'V71' snare nuances are unmatched."
Once again (actually, constantly), there's a lot of fake news as well as insights from users about features that are presented as if they were something new (but which, of course, have been known for ages) in various e-drum forums. This time, I read claims that the snare nuances of a Roland 'V71' module are "unmatched" (in comparison to VST-drumming): There would be “positional sensing” and “shallow rimshots” as well as “deep rimshots”, and analog ride cymbal pads would have “positional sensing” plus three zones as well.
There are SDXes (and other drum libraries/drum samplers) that provide "Shallow Rimshots". In case of SD3, they are playable by default by using SD3's position slots and my e-drum engines can make SD3 Center-to-Edge Positional Sensing stepless and combine it with L/R distinction. Then that whole thing can be switched to the buzzless version by a dedicated toggle hit.
And check out what you can achieve with VST Ride Positional Sensing: Digital Ride routing engine (Roland "CY-18DR" + "V71" module) 😊👉
These things are without a doubt the world's most powerful and at the same time best-sounding and most authentic-sounding e-drum systems.
So please don't be taken in by such statements, as they are usually completely undifferentiated and partly also technically incorrect.

These most powerful and at the same time best-sounding and most authentic-sounding e-drum systems can be tested at my place in Hannover/Germany and also at many drum-tec events, btw.
