September 2025 ➜ Superior Drummer (plug-in) v3.4.1 + EZ Drummer (plug-in) v3.1.1 add addtional latency 👎🙁

"At sample rate 44.1 kHz, the plug-ins (not the standalone) now always have and report 16 samples added latency, to prevent potential latency changes during playback."

(16 samples at 44100 Hz = more than one-third of a millisecond (~0.363 ms))

This is not very cool!
Especially e-drummers who are already operating at the limits in terms of latency do not need additional latency (which is also completely unnecessary for their purposes!).

Of course, 16 samples are marginal. But it's just another small addition in the latency chain which is unnecessary and therefore annoying.

Hey Toontrack, please implement a switch for this (to be able to disable the new additional latency) as e-drummers do not use the playback engine!

If you don't want that additional latency: Don't update / Stay with v3.3.7 or 3.4.0. (SD3) and v3.0.6 or 3.1.0 (EZ3)

Toontrack reacted to my post on their forum (in which I requested a switch that would make the old engine available again without the new, additional latency) and have now implemented exactly that for SuperiorDrummer3 with v3.4.3.

👉 This means that Superior Drummer is now as fast as it was before. ❗
Many thanks to Toontrack!

I hope the switch for EZDrummer3 will follow!
