The BDG Show Kit (the version without the digital pads) :
How inexpensive and at the same time functionally excellent can you get? ❗️😊👉

16 (+4) pads with 27 (+4) zones ❗️ :

All you need is basically an eDRUMin10 and a stereo audio interface (I'm using an RME Babyface here) with additional SPDIF input (using an inexpensive AD converter box to connect to the digital Babyface audio inputs. That AD device is a tiny box.)

Setup:

1 : snare pad (2 zones) ➜ eDi input1
-> I want it comfortable with 3* articulations and PositionalSensing - so not much compromise on the snare - thats why I'm using a drum-tec Diabolo 13" snare drum (Tip: "Diabolo3" pads are hotspot-free! and at the same time PS-capable, btw).
*[ head + rimshot + side stick or rim click (rim only) ]

2 : kick pad (1 zone) ➜ eDi input2a (that trigger input is set to dual-mono)
-> No compromise on the kick pad (because of feel! and the super low noise in the first place) - thats why I'm using a drum-tec Diabolo 18" bass drum. So this is the most expensive pad component of the ShowKit. I highly recommend such a kick pad.

3 : Roland CY-5 (2 zones) (-> can be an additional left hihat) ➜ eDi input3

4 : Roland CY-12 (2 zones) (main hihat left) ➜ eDi input4

5 : Yamaha PCY-65 (1 zone) ➜ Alesis PercPad kick trigger input

6 : Roland PD-8 (1 zone) ➜ Babyface Analog1 input

7 : Yamaha TP-65 (1 zone) ➜ Babyface Digital3 input

8 : Yamaha PCY-135 (3 zones) ➜ eDi input5

9 : Roland PDX-6a (1 zone) ➜ Babyface Digital4 input

10 : Roland PDX-8 (1 zone) ➜ eDi input2b (that trigger input is set to dual-mono)

11 : Yamaha PCY-155 (3 zones) ➜ eDi input6

12 : Roland CY-5 (2 zones) (-> can be an additional right hihat) ➜ eDi input7

13 : Roland PDX-8 (2 zones) ➜ eDi input8

14 : Roland CY-8 (2 zones) (main hihat right) ➜ eDi input9

15 : Yamaha PCY-65s (2 zones) ➜ eDi input10

16 : Yamaha TP-65 (1 zone) ➜ Babyface Analog2 input

17 , 18 , 19 , 20 : Alesis Perc Pad (4 pads/zones) ➜ midi-connected to the Babyface midi input

Enjoy ❗️😊

Check out the inexpensive rack-less* construction of the ShowKit (that is based on cymbal stands and multi-clamps and T-style tom arms with ball joint) at the first free VST e-drum Workshop (in Hannover, Germany on June 27th / 28th, 2025) ❗️😊 ( VST e-drum Workshop on June 27th + 28th, 2025 😊👉 ).

It's worth it! - You can build the same thing!

* ( no rack = no crosstalk from a rack ❗️)

Btw, the new eDRUMin12 could also pick up the four mono pads that are connected to the audio inputs of the audio interface here (using 2x dual mono) 🙂

...And another thing: the trigger module / audio interface / computer stuff takes up super little space: together with an "M4 Mac Mini" less than a Roland TD-50X module ❗️😊

Why Roland "PDX" mesh pads? ➜ PDX-6 / -8 pads for toms : I like them because they are inexpensive and they trigger well (also on the rim when they provide 2 zones like the PDX-8 pads) and have no center hotspots ...and fit anywhere due to their small size ❗️

Tip:
If you chase piezo trigger signals into the AD converters of the audio interface:
Be careful with the voltage (because you don't want to kill your converters with a high trigger voltage!) -> So always regulate down (with a suitable resistor or a suitable potentiometer* (potentiometer means adjustable and is therefore super suitable 🙂)).

(* Send a PM if you want to know more about suitable potentiometers).
